ปัจจุบันแทบทุกหน่วยงานมีการใช้งานระบบอินเทอร์เน็ต โดยแชร์อินเทอร์เน็ตมาจาก อุปกรณ์ อาทิ PC Server, ADSL Router, CISCO, iPSTAR, ... อันนี้คงขึ้นอยู่กับงบประมาณของหน่วยงานว่ามีงบขนาดไหน บางหน่วยงานมีการลงทุนต่ำ เช่น ไปซื้อ Account อินเทอร์เน็ตแบบ Home Use เช่น ของ TRUE, MaxNet ของ TOT แล้วมาแชร์ร่วมกันในหน่วยงาน การที่จะวางระบบเครือข่ายในหน่วยงานให้ปลอดภัยนั้นก็ต้องมีการวางแผนและเลือกใช้ทูลช่วย เช่นเดียวกัน

ตัวอย่างทูลสำหรับนำมาทำระบบ Share Internet Net สามารถเลือกทำได้หลายวิธีเช่น

1. กรณีใช้ Windows Server

1.1 Windows Server 2003/2008 + Routing and Remote Access serice

1.2 Windows Server 2003/2008 + Routing and Remote Access serice + DHCP Service(กรณีต้องการปล่อยไอพีแบบ auto)

1.3 Windows Server 2003/2008 + Routing and Remote Access serice + DHCP Service + ISA Servr (กรณีต้องการทำเป็น firewall พร้อมเก็บ Logs ของผู้ใช้งาน, ต้องซื้อเพิ่มเติม)

1.4 Windows Server 2003/2008 + Routing and Remote Access serice + DHCP Service + SquidNT (กรณีต้องการทำเป็น firewall พร้อมเก็บ Logs ของผู้ใช้งาน, ฟรี)

2. กรณีใช้ Linux Server (ฟรี)
2.1 Linux Server + IPTABLES + IP Masquerade

2.2 Linux Server + IPTABLES + IP Masquerade + DHCP Server (กรณีต้องการปล่อยไอพีแบบ auto)

2.3 Linux Server + IPTABLES + IP Masquerade + DHCP Server + Squid (กรณีต้องการทำเป็น proxy พร้อมเก็บ Logs ของผู้ใช้งาน)

2.4 Linux Server + IPTABLES + IP Masquerade + DHCP Server + Squid + SARG (กรณีต้องการวิเคราะห์ logs ผ่านหน้าเว็บ)
